About Us

We Stand for Equal Justice for all

It was on February 18, 2017 that the Board of Directors of the national NAACP approved the Alcoa-Blount NAACP recharter after meeting the requirement gaining 100 members.

We began with the membership of St. Paul A.M.E. Zion Church and moved out into the community.  Many of our present members have been with us since the very beginning. We did it and we have been active since then. I simply want to say thank you to our faithful members.

Since that time we have put into practice Micah 6:8 “He has shown you, O man, what is good, and what does the Lord require of you, but to do justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”

Over the years, we have done justly – which is justice.  We have upheld what is just –fighting to see that everybody has an equal opportunity to achieve equal results.

We have stood in good company with the civil rights movement, and so many other social justice movements.  In all of these movements, voices have been heard “it is the inalienable right of everyone to life, liberty and a pursuit of happiness.”  To cry out these rights are endowed on every human being his his/her creator.

Over the years, we have demonstrated “mercy” which is also translated charity and kindness acknowledging our kindship to one another.  We have sought to be in tune with the reality that as human beings, we have a common bond and we are indeed our brothers and sisters’ keepers.

Over the years we have demonstrated what it means to “walking humbly with [our] God.”

We are an organization who believes in liberty and justice for all. An organization to give voice to the voiceless.  An organization that believes in and seek the good of all.
